TAKEN: Combat Edit

I thought I’d blogged this before, but after searching it to find my video, I couldn’t find it. Perhaps I posted when I had it on YouTube but deleted it after they got really annoying about it. You know what they’re like. I don’t see how one half can be a copyright breach but the other one is acceptable fair use. (In fact, I checked extensively, both halves are indeed acceptable fair use.) So I put them both together in HD and hosted it on Megavideo instead because they’re much more reasonable. Better quality too, truth be told.
TAKEN: Combat Edit is my tribute to one of the best action/revenge/fighting/etc movies I have ever seen. Liam Neeson’s acting in this film is second to none and his fighting (I believe a modified version of Israeli Krav Maga) is nothing short of wonderful. Most movies before this were very unrealistic in their combat, but this one struck me as praiseworthy beyond anything else I’d ever seen. As well as showing my appreciation, it is educational for anyone combative, as some of the ideas in it are really original, I feel. It’s not often that you get originality, realism and practicality in combative movies!
So without further ado, here is the video – all of the violent bits edited together! This is strictly for ages 18 and over.I haven’t OCd it though because you have to play the video so there’s nothing to see accidentally. :)
For some reason I can’t embed no matter what I try, so if anyone knows how I can fix this (this is WordPress.COM, not .org) then please chuck me a comment or something. For now though, here’s the link: http://www.megavideo.com/?v=NOEKHOEW
OC Note: Violence, blood, reference to sex and prostitution, killing, weapons and torture.
A Couple of Miscellaneous Notes:
When Bryan gets out of the lift at 06:54 I edited this to make it look like he got out in another scene, as there were noncombative scenes in between that I removed.
The original break between parts, as I originally had to cut it in two for YouTube’s time limit, is the fade at 08:05.
Of course, I do not own anything despite the video being made by me. Directed by Pierre Morel and produced by Luc Besson, written by Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. More info is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taken_%28film%29
And, yes, Taken 2 has been greenlit, and Liam Neeson is starring. This was made public knowledge in 2010. Words cannot describe how eagerly I am awaiting this. Apparently the script has been finished too.
